December 2003
Dear Ryan,
I am just writing
to say thank you for an excellent couple of hours of snowmobiling
that you were our guide for. My parents and I thought Alpine
Adventures Snowmobiling and the people behind them were top notch
the entire way. Setting up for the ride was pleasant and straightforward,
and the guides on the ride were the best. The two-hour ride was
exciting and we loved it! It was a great turn-on to the fun of
snowmobiling. Wishing you a cold, snowy and safe winter. I know
you'll have fun no matter what.

Touring 2002
Last Sunday, January 20th my fiancee and I went snowmobiling
with your company. It was the first time for the both of us and
we had a great time. What made it more special was that it was
Cynara's 50th birthday and she will never forget how she spent
it.
Your staff especially
Stacey, Pat and Brian were very understanding that it was our
first time and helped to put us at ease. Thanks to Stacey for
helping with our tour and apparel, thanks to Pat who was our
great guide and was very conscious that it was our first time
and made us feel comfortable, and thanks to Brian for spending
time with us and talking to Cynara about her fishing memories
in Errol, NH.
We are still talking about our experience and look forward to
riding again.
Thanks again,
Patrick Mattera

9:30am - On the
road. We arrived in Lincoln by 11:00am (we were due to check
in to Alpine Adventures for 12:30pm for the 1:00pm tour.) The
directions we received from their website and brochure were great!
Take I-93 to exit 32 take a left Alpine Adventures is directly
across the street from the Rite Aide.
When we left
Manchester it was snowing lightly and it was expected to snow
for both days we were away. (So before we left we checked the
weather on-line at WMUR TV9. (Accumulation was estimated at 2-4
inches in the White Mountains Region.)
The driving wasn't
bad, it took the estimated 1 1/2 hours to get to Lincoln from
Manchester. Since we arrived there a bit early we decided to
eat at KimberLee's Diner, located just up the road from Alpine
Adventures. What a nice place! We were greeted by a very friendly
young man who accommodated our request of only 1/2 of a sandwich
(rather than a whole sandwich listed on the board). Our soups
were homemade and our 1/2 sandwiches were great! We were the
first to arrive for lunch and as soon as we entered the building
they turned on the music (which was big band and blues, my favorites!)
12:00pm - We
decided to check in early at Alpine Adventures. I was a bit nervous
because we had never snowmobiled before. My fears were soon calmed.
Everyone was so nice. They went out of their way to make sure
we felt welcomed. They answered our questions, helped us picking
out our helmets and chatted about the weather (of course, it
was snowing and their motto is "Pray for Snow!")
Judi's Notes:
Dress warmly, wear snowpants, good fitting gloves, good snow
boots and a warm coat/jacket. Alpine Adventures does rent snowsuits
and boot (you need your own gloves). You don't need a hat the
helmets (required) are warm and fit tightly. I had a pair of
light weight, waterproof, snowpants which worked fine. I really
did need new boots, though. Before we left Manchester, I shopped
and shopped and couldn't find any that I liked...then, in the
shop at Great Glen Trails (day 2), I found NEOS (New England
Over Shoe Boots) They didn't have my size but when I got home
I went on-line and found the ones I wanted "Blazers".
They don't sell on-line any more but Northern Boot Company on
North Elm Street in Manchester [Great Place...you should stop
in] had them in stock. Their store is located across the street
from North end Superett on Elm Street in Manchester.
1:00pm - Right
on time...Alpine Adventures had us all get into their yellow
van for a 5-minute drive to the "trail head" (cool
terminology for you to use when snowmobiling). Only 3 of the
8 of us had ever snowmobiled before (One of "us" being
a 6 year old with his Dad). My husband and I were the only two
who doubled up on a snowmobile (except for the youngster). It
was a beautiful day! We toured up to the Gorge, the Old Man in
the Mountain and through the woods. BEAUTIFUL! It was snowing
lightly and everything was white and pristine. Our guides were
great (note: yes, tip the guides). There were two guides for
our group of seven snowmobiles. They went over the basics of
the machines. Then we got on and drove! Easy as pie! When we
got to the first stopping point (about 1 minute into the ride)
we stopped our machines and the guides gave us more tips. They
let us ride around the open parking lot to get a feel for the
machine. Then we were off. The guides broke us into two groups.
One guide leading four machines and the other leading three.
Judi's Notes:
Don't double-up! I didn't think I could drive it myself... being
out of shape, not athletic and short! But this little ity-bity
girl who was on our tour handled the machine fine. It was VERY
difficult for me to hold on to my husband...I think I was more
sore because I was on the back of the machine and was bounced
around much more than the drivers...I think that I would have
had more control if I was driving myself. The machine would have
also performed better with less weight on the back... Everyone
told me so, my brothers (who snowmobile all the time) my husband....everyone....but
I didn't listen...So please, don't be like me and take my advice....rent
your own machine (even if you are scared)!
3:00pm- We were
finished our tour and back at Alpine Adventures office right
on time! We tipped our guide and stopped to speak with the staff.....
Nice trip, wonderful service, great time! We'll be back... and,
obviously, tell our friends, family and the three million people
who come into the Manchester Airport!

Florida Family
Touring during Christmas Break 12/29/00
Hello,
Thank You for
the wonderful, most exciting time of out recent vacation during
the Christmas Holidays. My family and I had to reschedule our
snowmobiling trip because our daughter got sick, and as a result
we went out with Mike and his partner on Friday, (yesterday)
before the big NorEaster Storm hit.
We would like
to say, THANK YOU, for the HIGHLIGHT of our vacation. The Snowmobile
trip was just awesome and the most fun our family has had in
some time together. Our kids, Justin and Jenni talked about it
all afternoon, last night and all the way back to Tampa today.
During our trip my daughters hands got cold, Mike gave her a
pair of his gloves to keep her hands warm, She couldn't believe
that he would just give her a pair to wear, but I wasn't surprised,
because of the way the entire office staff at your location presented
themselves I expected such professionalism from them.
As you are aware,
your best advertisement is by WORD OF MOUTH, and believe me my
family and I will be GOOD WORDS for your tours. My only regrets
of the whole week we spent there, is that we didn't take your
trip more than once. My brothers family is looking for a place
to spend next Christmas and I will make sure that he uses your
staff to view the sights of the mountains. We hope that the BIG
storm today has left you with more new snow for the next week
of visitors.
Again, A BIG
THANK YOU, for making our vacation a big success, Our kids will
remember this for many years to come.
We invite you
to come to Florida to enjoy our Sun, Beaches, Fishing and other
things as well.
Sincerely,
Mr. Richard Cabaniss,
Wife Patti, Son Justin and Daughter Jenni Lynn

Getting "First
Tracks" 2/17/01 and driving "through a postcard."
Dear Alpine Adventures:
Please post this
where all can read.
This past valentine
week we signed up for your 3 hour "first tracks" tour
which left at 9am on thursday morning.
We arived at 8:30 to prepair for our adventure, they have all
the the gear (except for gloves bring your own) you will need,
helmets, snowsuits, boots, the works. We piled into the van and
took a short ride down the road to where the snowmobiles are
kept. If you have never ridden a snowmobile before no worry's!
My girlfreind and my freinds girl have never been on one before,
so Dave our guide showed everyone how to operate the machine
and gave instruction on how to ride. Off we go, a short ride
to an open area so you can putt around a little and get used
to how your snowmobile feels, once everyone was ready we where
off.
To describe the
time we had I cannot come up with a single word to sum it all
up. The night before it had snowed about 4 inches to add to the
already 30 or so inches on the ground. All of the trees where
covered in snow, it was like driving through a post card. We
went to the "old man on the mountain" viewing area
and snapped some great pictures (bring a camera!). We rode along
groomed trails and over bridges to arrive at cannon mountain
ski resort for a quick break and some hot chocolate. The rest
of the trip was through snow covered trees back dropped by white
tipped mountains, along trails that passed little brooks that
where covered in ice and snow, and if your nice ask Dave or one
of the other guides to show you the "hidden lake" in
the mountains, trust me it's really beautifull!
We arrived back
at base 3 hours later with some huge smiles on our faces and
good times had by all. A short ride back to the shop, a tip for
Dave (yes tip your guides) and a round of thank you's for everyone.
All in all it was an awsome time, I highly recommend this adventure
to everyone. A little tip.... each person ride there own machines,
we were glad we did. It makes the trip that much more fun, and
also ask for Dave if you can.
Sincerely,
Rob, Krissy, Tj, and Kelly

Early Start to
'02-'03 Season
I would like
to take a minute to thank you for a great time, six of us rented
three sleds on Dec. 21, 2002. Even after a full day of rain,
and some icy conditions, your staff made sure we had one of the
best rides and had a great time that we will talk about for years
to come. The machines and equipment were top notch. We are now
planning another trip with Alpine Adventures because of there
proffesional and courteous staff and guides. So once again we
would like to thank Alpine Adventures for great sites and a great
ride. Thank you.
